BENEFITS TO MEMBERS
Members are entitled to all privileges conferred on them under the Co-operative law. Being partners in a noble venture, members have a privilege and duty of helping fellow citizens.
Hospital Services
Members availing of the services of the hospital are entitled to a concessional tariff in OPD consultation, Indoor treatment and other diagnostic services. Benefits to members and dependents *are :
- Priority in admission.
- Discount in consulting fees.
- Concession on Indoor Hospital Bills.
- Fixed tariff for members in Special Rooms on procedures and operations.
- Members (more than two years) over the age of 70 years (self only and not for family) can avail of Free Health Check-up once in a year.
- A member who is a diabetic can avail of special concession in pathology tests.

To avail of the services of this hospital, citizens have to first become members of the co-operative society, which runs this hospital. Membership is open to citizens of Greater Mumbai and Thane Districts. A person who is legally competent to contract can become a member by paying a non-refundable amount of Rs. 10000/- towards the Shareholders’ fund (one time) plus an entrance fee of Rs. 100/- and Form fee Rs. 100/-. No dividend or bonus is payable on the moneys paid. This membership is transferable to another person, voluntarily, after a member holds the membership for two years or, automatically and irrespective of minimum holding period, to an heir/nominee of the member upon his death. The class structure of the beneficiaries is observed to be predominantly middle class.
The governance of the co-operative society is done by a Board of Directors, who are 25 in number, and, who are elected by the members of the society once in every 5 years. The composition of the Board of Directors is as follows: 4 Doctors who are also members of the co-operative Society, non-medical members of the co-operative Society 4, 2 seats for women representatives, 1 seat for SC/ST nominee, 1 nominee of co-operative Department of the state government, 1 nominee of Maharashtra State co-operative Bank Ltd., 1 nominee of the Director of Health Service, Government of Maharashtra, and 2 seats for Municipal Corporation of Greater Mumbai nominees. Others are contestable.
Even an institution, firm, or body may become a member (as an institutional member) of this hospital by paying Rs 200000.

1. Advance Deposit Submission
Members shall deposit a minimum amount of ₹75,000/- with the Hospital Accounts Department, along with a written request clearly stating:
• Purpose of the deposit
• Membership details
• Identification details
• Authorization to utilize the deposit in the event of hospital admission
2. Emergency Contact & Assurance
Members must submit a written assurance from an immediate kin, providing the following details:
• Name
• Relationship
• Contact numbers
• Email address
The said kin shall be authorized to be informed and coordinated with in case of emergency admission.
3. System Entry & Deposit Creation
Upon receipt of the deposit, the Hospital Accounts Department shall:
• Generate a unique Advance Deposit Number in the hospital system and issue a deposit receipt
• Account for the amount under the head “Advance Deposit”
4. Advance Deposit Number Issuance
A unique Advance Deposit Number shall be issued to the member for future reference and identification.
5. Conversion to In-Patient (IP) Admission
• The Advance Deposit of ₹75,000/- shall be adjusted against the hospital bills
• Hospital admission shall be strictly subject to availability of beds at the time of emergency
6. Interim Billing & Balance Payment
• Interim bills shall be communicated to the designated kin member
• The kin shall arrange payment of the balance amount, if any, as per hospital billing norms
1. Request for Withdrawal
Members may request withdrawal by submitting a written application along with:
• Original deposit receipt
• Valid identification proof
2. Eligibility for Refund
• Withdrawal is permitted only if the deposit has not been utilized
• If partially utilized, refund shall be processed for the unutilized balance only
3. Processing of Refund
• Refunds shall be processed within 7 to 10 working days
• Refund shall be made via bank transfer or cheque only
4. Closure of Advance Deposit
• The Advance Deposit Number shall stand cancelled upon refund
• Cancelled numbers shall not be valid for future admissions
